Training & Development Manager

The Role

The Training and Development Manager will manage one of the company’s key brand’s apprenticeship programs and training contracts, and ensure the business is utilising apprenticeship programs effectively.

The position will maximise and secure funding opportunities for apprenticeships, and manage the relationship between the brand and training authorities and organisations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a small team to provide a high-quality apprenticeship and training program service to the business
  • Maximise the opportunity to secure funding opportunities for apprenticeships and training programs
  • Coach and develop staff, and ensure they have the required resources and training to proactively provide a first point of contact to all key stakeholders
  • Assist in the implementation of any continuous improvement activities
  • Be the point of escalation to follow up on customer enquiries either directly or with other appropriate personnel within agreed service standards
  • Provide the appropriate training and knowledge to assist employers and prospective Australian Apprentices with the Gateway process and Mentoring support as required
  • Ensure processes and procedures are compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations and Government policies that affect AASN services and the employment of Australian Apprentices
  • Implement, monitor and review processes to ensure all required data is maintained accurate, reliably and securely
  • Empower staff to take initiatives and enable self-evaluation of their performance against personal and business objectives
  • Strive for a high level of staff engagement by: supporting the conduct of surveys to assess staff satisfaction, communicating the results of and taking action based on survey feedback, recognising and acknowledging people’s individual contributions and developing
Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience within traineeships and RTO (or similar)
  • Sound understanding of the relevant legislation, regulations, and government policies
  • Proven tender writing abilities
  • Compliance-driven
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
