Technical Officer Life Sciences – Biology

Join a team that delivers a broad range of NATA accredited scientific services for source water, drinking water and wastewater to support the quality assurance of water supplies in Australia. You will contribute to delivering exceptional analytical services, ensuring high customer satisfaction and driving business growth. This is a temporary assignment for a duration of 8 months.
- Contribute to and support a high performing, customer-centric team
- Perform accurate and timely analyses including phytoplankton identification and enumeration by microscope and chlorophyll analysis by spectrophotometer
- High level commitment to customer satisfaction and service delivery
- Perform accurate and timely analyses for all clients to ensure contractual obligations are met
- Contribute and support improvements in efficiency, productivity and quality
- Support development of services to assist business growth and innovation
- Ensure quality management aligns with all required criteria
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Science and/or extensive experience
- Extensive expertise and experience in utilising modern scientific analytical techniques in Life Sciences, particularly with a focus on microscopy
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory information management systems, NATA and ISO quality management requirements, processes and procedures
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) practices and regulations for a laboratory environment
- Proficient in routine maintenance and troubleshooting of contemporary scientific analytical instruments relevant to the field
- Experience in microscopic algal analysis beneficial, while experience using a microscope would be an advantage
- Must be willing to undergo initial and subsequent medical clearances
- Must be available to participation in and response to an on-call roster
- Must be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance, DCSI Child Related and/or Working with Vulnerable people clearance as well as traffic check
