Senior Consultant – Governance and Assurance
The Role
The Governance and Assurance Senior Consultant strengthens the organisations governance and assurance practices by developing and implementing services, documentation, and training for Sustainable Infrastructure. This role ensures compliance with corporate policies, regulatory standards, and integrates best practices to support efficient, high-quality operations aligned with the business’ strategic goals. This is a temporary assignment for initially 3 months.
- Develop and implement tailored governance processes, workflows, and templates, ensuring alignment with organisations strategic goals, corporate policies, and standards. This includes creating, reviewing, and updating comprehensive governance documentation, such as policies, procedures, and reports
- Lead the creation and delivery of training programs for the Sustainable Infrastructure team, and facilitate collaborative initiatives to enhance process application, knowledge exchange, and business system support
- Manage the preparation and submission of reports and project submissions for key stakeholders and various internal committees, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery
- Oversee and conduct assurance audits, focusing on compliance, quality, and operational effectiveness, including audits on Risk, Issue, and Change Management
- Act as the primary custodian for Sustainable Infrastructure capital project and program management procedures, ensuring all documentation, work practices, and processes are well-organised, current, and accessible
- Oversee the development, review, and validation of supporting guidelines, templates, and data related to the capital investment framework, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with best practices for decision-making and reporting
- Provide comprehensive training, support & consulting services to Planners, Project Managers, and project teams, ensuring effective use of systems and tools, while developing and managing training modules aligned with best practices and industry standards
- Engage with professional groups and industry associations to stay updated on best governance and audit practices, while reviewing and refining internal processes for continuous improvement
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in project management
- Established expertise in facilitating and conducting workshops and training sessions
- Demonstrated experience in change management, with the ability to communicate effectively, build rapport, and convey complex ideas related to process changes
- Proven experience in establishing and implementing governance processes for projects and/or programs
- Excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to evaluate, assess, and resolve problems
- MUST hold a current National police check, Traffic check, Working with Children and/or Working with Vulnerable People checks
