Recruitment & Human Resources Manager

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a driven and integral Recruitment and Human Resources Officer to join a growing boutique government department for an initial three month assignment.

The Role

As the Recruitment and Human Resources Officer you are an integral member of the Corporate Services Section. You will be managing the recruitment, selection, placement, and induction & separation processes, including liaison with internal and external stakeholders. You will also be managing sensitive human resource processes and will be the first point of contact for recruitment, induction, and employee queries. Coordinating organisational workforce programs and proactive review and maintenance of the organisations HR policies are key elements of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and manage tailored, thorough recruitment plans and processes aligned with relevant organisation policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and provide guidance to approved selection panel participants and participate in recruitment panels where appropriate
  • Liaise and communicate with candidate in a manner that aligned to organisation values
  • Prepare job and placement specifications based on organisation and role requirements
  • Prepare letters of offer and employment contracts, coordinating offer and acceptance process for new and existing employees
  • Coordinate induction and separation of employees as necessary
  • Provide support and advice to the manager business services
  • Provide consulting to employees regarding contractual terms and conditions and company policies
  • Contribute to organisational workforce programs designed to elevate workplace culture
  • Participate in planning, policy, and decision-making processes, regularly reviewing and reporting information and making recommendations
  • Actively contribute to strategic projects and participate in working groups and committees
Skills and Experience
  • Accredited training in Human Resource Management and/or tertiary qualifications in business and/or commerce or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated commitment to provide high level customer service and stakeholder engagement
  • Proven ability to efficiently manage sensitive data within a corporate database and/or records management system to a high level
  • Proficient computer literacy using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid experience in recruiting across a variety of functions and levels
  • Sound understanding of equal employment opportunity principles
