Payroll Coordinator

Our client located in Kent Town is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join their team and support a timely and well run payroll service to the 750 plus employees across the company, and provide exceptional customer service to all employees, managers and
owners.

This is a temporary role on an initial 3-month contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to payroll related queries and effectively process corrections
  • Quarterly incentive payments, annual wage increases, reclassifications, promotions etc. are processed correctly
  • Setting up new and maintaining existing employee records
  • System management and maintenance
  • Monitor and record Paid Parental Leave (PPL) payments and arrange fortnightly payments
  • Interpreting awards and agreements to facilitate accurate payroll delivery
  • Input, processing, and verification of weekly, monthly, quarterly and EOY reporting
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ payroll experience with knowledge around:
    • Fair Work / National Employment Standards
    • Awards interpretation
    • PAYG and HELP
    • Superannuation
    • Payroll Calculations and Termination Calculations
    • Payroll Configuration
    • Paid Parental Leave scheme
    • Workcover
  • Advanced Excel abilities and understanding of working with numbers
  • A working knowledge of the relevant industrial agreements and all relevant legislation
  • A sound knowledge of Superannuation requirements and the Long Service Leave Act
  • Experience across Wageloch (time and attendance), Preceda (Payroll) and Power BI (reporting) would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Demonstrated ability for fast learning and long-term retention of information
  • Ability and willingness to work both in a team as well as autonomously
