Accountant

The Role

Working in a supportive team, you will have the opportunity to experience an extensive range of different industries and to work closely with some of South Australia’s iconic businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure completion of statutory compliance work, which may include:
    ⎯ Completion of financial statements, using BGL software
    ⎯ Completion of income tax returns
    ⎯ Completion of BAS & IAS statements, as required
    ⎯ Preparation of pension commencement documents
    ⎯ Preparation of Member balances for pension commencements
    ⎯ Administration of pensions
    ⎯ Preparation of rollover statements
    ⎯ Review your own work for completeness and accuracy prior to handing to Manager for review
  • Monitor the completion of work to ensure that it remains within both time and budgetary restraints
  • Notify the Manager or Assistant Manager of any technical issues or problems that may cause the budget to be exceeded
  • Be pro-active when dealing with clients by phone or email, in order to build the client’s trust and confidence
  • Deal with any concerns or issues raised by clients in a sensitive and responsive manner
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor degree in accounting or similar discipline
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  • Be highly committed, enthusiastic, and have a strong work ethic
  • Exceptional attention to detail and building strong relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in BGL and MS Office
